Portfolio

I try to bring science to life. I have a wealth of experience presenting science at festivals and events, and have worked with organisations including New Scientist, in2scienceUK, Green Man Festival, Guerilla Science, King’s College London and Science Showoff.

I also aim to make science accessible, and have created a number of workshops and talks to introduce neuroscience and animal behaviour to the general public. With my friends, I created the Neuroscience comedy-pantomime “The Brave Little Neuron“, which featured sketches on brain development.

As a researcher, I have given academic talks to research groups in the UK, Europe and America, as well as at international conferences.

Interactive projects

I have worked on interdisciplinary & skills-based interactive projects to combine arts and sciences. The artist Lisa Pettibone also brought my PhD work to life (as seen in the picture)!

Comedy and Events

I have performed science themed stand-up comedy across the UK, working with Science Showoff, Medi-Culture festival, Green Man Festival, and Bristol FUTURES festival. I have also interviewed scientists and compèred in Einstein’s Garden at Green Man Festival since 2023.

Performances and Workshops

I created and directed a pantomime on Neuroscience (The Brave Little Neuron) which has been performed at science events, music festivals, and schools across the UK. I have also led interactive science workshops to schoolchildren.

Outreach

I am committed to making science more accessible, and work with in2scienceUK as a trustee, run workshops on university access and research skills to 16-18 year olds, and participate in mentorship programmes.
